Outer Banks, North Carolina March 29, 2011

I have always wanted to see the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It was awesome! We took a ferry which was a 2 hour and 15 minute ride to Ocracoke, North Carolina. Then we had to board another ferry for a 30 minute ride. The strip of land we drove on was so narrow we could almost stand by the water on the ocean side and throw a rock to the water on the bay side. We saw 3 different light houses on the Outer Banks. Our favorite was the Cape Hatteras light house. It was awesome! I had so much fun taking pictures. I would have stayed all day and done that but it was COLD!!

We also stopped at Kitty Hawk where the Wright brothers came to fly their airplane in 1903. It was fun seeing this and I think the boys enjoyed it a lot. The boys bought a book on how to make all kinds of paper airplanes so they have been busy in the back seat trying out their new creations! It is so fun to see them working together and having so much fun!!

Charleston, SC March 25, 2011

We took a walking tour of Charleston, South Carolina. There is such great architecture here!! It is fun to see all the old buildings and the beautiful architecture.

We saw the slave market where people would go to buy slaves to work on their plantations. We saw numerous mansions that belonged to the different planters of rice and cotton. We could see Fort Sumter out in the bay where one of the Civil War battles took place. It was a real fun tour! Charleston is a beautiful city!

Hilton Head Island, South Carolina March 24, 2011

We loved Hilton Head Island!! It is beautiful here. It is so lush and green and then to have the beach here also!!! It is almost paradise! It is still a little chilly and we miss the warm Florida weather.

We ate breakfast at the most wonderful restaurant called Stackers. I highly recommend their french toast. This restaurant and the one we ate breakfast at in Jackson Hole, Wyoming are our 2 favorites!! Along with our top choice, the Samoa Cook House in Eurika, California!!

There are tons of golf courses here on the island. If you are a golfer this is definitly the place to come on vacation!!

St. Simon and Savannah, Georgia March 23, 2011

We finally made it out of Florida! There is so much to see and do in Florida and we had a blast!! It was kind of sad to leave but the show must go on!!

We stayed in St. Simon Island, Georgia. It is a cute little beach town. Then it was on to Savannah! It is beautiful in Georgia. There are so many trees and it is so green.

We went on a city tour of Savannah. It was very interesting. My favorite part was seeing all the architecture. It was beautiful!! There are so many beautiful, old, old homes and the giant oak trees with the moss hanging down from them. It was gorgeous!!

Daytona Beach, Florida March 22, 2011

Today was my day!! We drove back to Daytona Beach and Steve and I went to the Engelbert Humperdinck concert. Wow! It was great! He can still really sing!! It was a great show.

Orlando March 5 - March 21, 2011

Wow! Have we ever had fun in Orlando! 3 days of Universal + 5 days of Disney + 4 days of water parks = EXHAUSTION We are worn out but it was a blast!! Our fist few days we spent at our hotel which had a water park there at the hotel. We loved that!! The boys were the first ones down the water slides in the morning and the last ones down the slides at night.

Steve, Riley and Christopher took a helicopter tour over Orlando. They got to see all the theme parks from a helicopters perspective. They loved it! I prefer to have my fun on the ground instead of in the air!

We then moved on to Universal Studios. Our favorite ride there was the Harry Potter ride although Steve loved the Dragon Challenge roller coaster. It was fun seeing so many new and different things. Riley loves going on the wild roller coasters and Steve goes with him. Christopher and I like our rides a little calmer!

On March 12th (Riley's birthday) we took a needed break from the theme parks and drove over to Daytona Beach to attend the Daytona 200 motorcycle races! What a blast!! I didn't know that I would enjoy it as much as I did. We all loved it. Those bike fly around the course! We had great seats right by on of the corners where a lot of the action took place. It was a great race!!

On to Disney!! We went to Disney's Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studio, Animal Kingdom and then back to Magic Kingdom all in 7 days! We were worn out! I even did the Everest roller coaster at Animal Kingdom! I was terrified but Steve made me go! I actually had a blast! Christopher got lost at Epcot and ended up at guest relations! We aren't up for parents of the year anytime soon!! Poor kid!! There were 15 thousand people at the park and he asked the Disney worker, "I lost my parents, do you know where they are?" The next day we went and bought everyone in the family new phones!! Now if we can just keep the boys from losing them! The boys like Magic Kingdom but my favorite is Animal Kingdom. I love that park!!

Daytona Beach, Florida, February 21 - March 4, 2011

Walking on the beach every morning can't be beat!!! I just can't get used to seeing the sun come up on the ocean instead of setting on the ocean. It has been fun seeing the sun rise. There are TONS of seagulls sitting on the beach every morning at sunrise when we go for our walk. They are so noisy! It is fun to see them. Several of our walks have been to the pier to have breakfast! What fun!!

We climbed to the top of the tallest lighthouse in Florida. It was 203 steps to the top. We had a great view from up there but both Steve and I ended up getting nauseous and light headed!

We went to see the Daytona International Speedway. It is huge!! We are going back on March 12th to the motorcycle races. That should be fun. All the motorcycles were coming into town for motorcycle week. It was unreal. They have about 500,000 bikers come in for the week.

Christopher ate alligator! I was surprised that he ordered it but he really liked it. Later he was able to hold a baby alligator and he said it tried to bite him because he ate his buddy earlier!!
